About

Fullerton Composite Squadron 56 has a long history; once known as the North Orange County Composite Squadron 56, its home has been the Orange County Boy “Scout Hut” in La Habra for several years. In November of 2002, we moved to our current home at the Fullerton Airport, where we generally meet the first four Tuesdays of each month from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm, and changed our name to the Fullerton Composite Squadron 56.

Although a composite squadron, our heart is in Cadet Programs, where our goal is to assist every youth member in becoming the best leader they can be and how best to use their skills in the military, law enforcement, or whatever career path they choose.

We support the three missions of Civil Air Patrol Emergency Service, Cadet Programs, and Aerospace Education during our monthly meetings and offer opportunities outside the weekly meetings.

Within the Aerospace Education mission, we offer some unique programs in addition to monthly aerospace/STEM classes:

Our Emergency Services program support ranges based on the interest of our members. Many of our members have training in:

  • First Aid / CPR
  • CERT training
  • sUSAS drone program

Our Cadet Programs is youth-led with senior member oversight. Cadets learn about leadership through weekly meetings and some special activities, such as:

  • Working the Great Pacific Air Show and local parades
  • Escorting members of the public at Rail Museum for the annual Day Out with Thomas event
  • Opportunities to see and sometimes fly in military aircraft such as C-130, Blackhawk helicopters, and even a fully restored DC-3.
